I have just discovered a new way to make pecan pies. We have a Pecan Pie in a Jar in a regular flavor and chocolate flavor. Okay, chocolate pecan pie, that intrigued me so I had to make that one. The regular pie had to be tested to make sure that it was a worthy pie to make again. I really liked the regular one, it tastes just as good if not better than any one I have had in the past. The chocolate pecan pie has a rich cocoa flavor with pecans. It is really good as well. I wasn't sure what to expect with the chocolate but I was pleasantly surprised. They were both really easy to make. I used a store bought pie crust but you can make your own. They have very few additional ingredients that you need so prep time is a snap. The regular pie has to set four hours minimum before serving (overnight is recommended). The chocolate pie can be served once cooled. So if you or someone that you know like pecan pies, I recommend that you give these a try. They are easy to make, very little mess to clean and they taste great. Next time you stop by our store we can show how you can make a simple pecan pie too.
