If you’re considering the purchase of a turkey fryer but are worried that you just might not find enough different uses for it, well think again!!!! There’s plenty of recipes out there to whet your appetite. Here’s a fun recipe sure to delight the kid with you and/or the kid in you!
Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwiches… Batter Dipped and Fried (yea, no kidding!)
1 c peanut butter
4 ½ c Bisquick
2 ½ c water
16 slices of bread
Set your fryer to a medium heat to heat the oil to 350 degrees. It’ll take about 20 minutes to heat, meanwhile, spread the peanut butter on half the bread slices. Quarter up your bananas then slice the quarters into 3 slices each (that’s 12 slices per banana all together). Place 3 slices of banana on each piece of peanut-buttered bread. Top with the remaining bread slices.
Mix the bisquick with the water. When your oil’s hot dip your sandwiches into the batter. When it’s coated nicely, lift out and shake off excess batter. Carefully place the sandwiches into the fryer and push down with your long tongs for about 30 seconds. Let the sandwiches float to the top and fry for about 2 minutes turning once.
If you haven’t done so already, grab some paper towels really, really fast and lay them out cause it’s time to get those sandwiches out of that oil! Carefully use your tongs to lift them out and place them on the towels.
If you’re worried that might not be enough sugar for you, go ahead and sprinkle your sandwich with some powdered sugar. Pretties it up quite nicely too.
