Greetings (Bass) Pro Shoppers!
Welcome to our newly formed Bass Pro Blog. I will be your personal guide into our Mesa, AZ store, with an emphasis on apparel, golf and sarcasm. Here I will highlight new products, technical gear, in-store promotions and shameless puns.
A bit about your author, me. I consider myself well versed in the apparel scene… I’ve been wearing clothes most of my life. I was the Assistant Manager of a North Face store in Dublin, Ireland and was the Team Lead of the Men’s Department here at the all-powerful Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Mesa, Arizona. Now I’m behind the scenes, helping with our store events and promotions we host at our store. So if you need to know what’s going on within these walls, I have my finger on the pulse. (For instance, did you know that February 11-20 was the Free Boat Show where you can find amazing deals on boats and have fun with the whole family?! See what I mean?) I also have the Golf Department under wraps as well – with 330 days of sunshine, it’s easy to be an avid golfer… and outdoorsman for that matter.
Here in Arid-zona, our temperatures don’t stay low for long, so before our 120 degree temps roll our way, I’d like to introduce you to one of my favorite articles of clothing we carry: Bass Pro Shops® 100MPH WINDSTOPPER® Fleece Liner Jacket for Men. Soft Shell material is one of my favorite materials to wear (except for the underwear trial program they tried to roll out, which I did not agree with). Most soft shells boast that they are water resistant, wind resistant and breathable… What separates this particular piece from others is the fact that it is completely windproof up to 100mph! With clean lines, soft-to-the-touch feel, and versatile usage… this will become one of your favorite everyday jackets too.
Most days you’ll be able to get by with just this piece (well, don’t forget to wear pants)… except when our “monsoon” season hits, and then you’ll need to be completely water proof. NO need to take off your newly acquired favorite jacket because this soft shell fleece can actually zip into a few different jackets to keep you completely dry and warm! You can zip into the 100 mph Parka or 100 mph Jacket and don’t forget the matching 100 mph Bibs.
Lastly, one of the most important things is to take care of your clothes! You must wash your technical garments with synthetic fabric wash. Regular detergent is too harsh for these items and even with one wash will make them less breathable and less waterproof. So toss your fleece, soft shells, water proof shells, and basically any of your outerwear layers (max 3 articles), into the washer with a capful of this and air dry for maximum longevity of your technical items.
